Section 224: The Proposal to Merge U.S. and Israeli Military Technology Programs
Evidence rating: CONFIRMED that a draft of the House Armed Services Committee's FY2027 defense bill contains a Section 224 titled "United States–Israel Defense Technology Cooperation Initiative," covering artificial intelligence, cyber, quantum, autonomous systems, and biotechnology. MODERATE for reported details beyond the title, which come from a policy outlet as relayed on X and from a social-media discussion rather than the bill text we opened. STRONG for this page's reading: while the United States builds an AI-driven draft machine, Congress is weighing a formal joining of U.S. and Israeli military technology in exactly those fields.
What was reported
On May 29, 2026, Clash Report posted, citing Responsible Statecraft: "A provision hidden in a House defense bill would formally merge US and Israeli military technology programs — including shared weapons development, joint production, and linked computer networks" (as shown in the thread at @twistedfreek59's reply, May 29, 2026; about 430 likes). The next day, a post reading "Palantir is pushing for a draft. Congress is fusing your military with the IDF. Wake up patriot, they're coming for your sons and daughters" drew more than 12,000 likes (@rabbimandyx, May 30, 2026).
A June 1, 2026 post described it as "Section 224 of the drafted House version of the Fiscal Year 2027 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA)," which "proposes the establishment of an "executive agent" to oversee and synchronize unprecedented collaborative military-industrial partnerships between the United States and Israel," and named the committee's leaders, Rep. Mike Rogers (Republican, Alabama, chairman) and Rep. Adam Smith (Democrat, Washington, ranking member) (Free Julian Assange page on Facebook, June 1, 2026).
A reader who checked the draft replied on that post: "A draft of the House Armed Services Committee's FY2027 NDAA does contain a real Section 224 titled “United States–Israel Defense Technology Cooperation Initiative,”" and "Yes, Section 224 is real, and it proposes expanded U.S.-Israel defense technology cooperation across areas including AI, cyber, quantum, autonomous systems, and biotechnology." He added that "Some have proposed removing the provision from the NDAA" (John David Howe, comment on the same post).
Same committee, same bill type
The House Armed Services Committee is the same committee that passed automatic draft registration in 2024, with Mike Rogers as chairman endorsing it (how the law passed quietly). The defense bill, the NDAA, is the same kind of must-pass bill in which automatic registration became law in December 2025 with no hearing. A technology-merger provision in the FY2027 bill travels the same road.
An intelligence-sharing companion
A September 2026 summary noted a proposed "Sec. 622 of FY27 IAA (S.4615, Cotton)," the Intelligence Authorization Act sponsored by Sen. Tom Cotton, that "matches the Israel intel-sharing description but remains unenacted" (Grok, September 21, 2026). The text was not in our sources.
Why it matters to the draft machine
The draft agency's plan is built on "artificial intelligence capabilities," "matching algorithms," "AI-powered workflows," and cloud systems (the plan). The Pentagon's AI targeting in the Iran war runs on Palantir's Maven, which Fortune reported was "reportedly used to help generate targeting lists for the Israeli military in Gaza" (Fortune). Section 224 would formally join U.S. and Israeli work in AI and cyber. When a foreign government whose intelligence services have repeatedly reached into U.S. defense secrets (Israeli intelligence and U.S. defense) is joined to the programs that build military AI and "linked computer networks," Americans have a right to ask where the data on their own sons will go.
A widely shared list put the fear in its bluntest form: "Merge Israeli & American military," "Use it to police Americans," "Instate a draft," "Force your kids to fight Iran" (@IanMalcolm84, July 15, 2026; about 2,200 likes).
