The Whole-Land Map at Home: Mezuzahs, Kindergartens, Police Cars
A country's real map is the one it teaches its children and puts on its public buildings. In Israel, the map of Eretz Yisrael HaShlema, "the Complete Land of Israel," the land with no Palestinian West Bank or Gaza on it, has been turning up in exactly those places: on the door of Israel's ambassador to the United Nations, on the walls of kindergartens, on police patrol cars, on a minister's social media, and on a Foreign Ministry graphic about Lebanon. This page collects them.
The ambassador's mezuzah
A mezuzah is a small case holding a Torah verse, fixed to a Jewish doorpost. On 19 August 2024, the day before his term ended, Israel's ambassador to the UN, Gilad Erdan, posted a video of himself fixing a new mezuzah in the ambassador's office in New York. He wrote, in Hebrew: "The day before the end of my term I had the privilege of affixing a new mezuzah in the ambassador's office and of keeping a promise I made to the chairman of the Yesha Council. The mezuzah is in the shape of the complete Land of Israel. It will remind everyone who comes here for a meeting that the Land of Israel belongs to the people of Israel, including Judea and Samaria" (Gilad Erdan on X, 19 August 2024, translation for this page). The Yesha Council is the umbrella body of the West Bank settlements. The post was viewed about 123,000 times. Every diplomat who visits Israel's UN mission now walks past a map with no Palestine on it, placed there as a promise to the settlers.
Kindergartens and summer camps
In July 2024 the former Haaretz education reporter Or Kashti reported: "Meanwhile in Givatayim, angry parents report that a map of the complete, united, and faith-based Land of Israel was hung in the city's kindergartens, as part of the summer-vacation camps" (Or Kashti on X, 7 July 2024, translation for this page). A reader noted separately that Haaretz had reported in 2025 that Israeli school maps often omit the Green Line, the 1949 armistice line that separates Israel from the West Bank.
Police cars
In November 2025 an Israeli posted a photograph with the comment: "Who said Israel Police is political? There is simply a sticker of the complete Land of Israel on the patrol cars. And what next? Kahane was right?" (Gonen Ben Itzhak on X, 15 November 2025, translation for this page). Meir Kahane was a rabbi whose party was banned from Israel's parliament for racism; Itamar Ben Gvir, now the minister in charge of the police, began his political life in Kahane's movement.
A minister's shirt and a settler's shop
According to the fact-check site Misbar, Heritage Minister Amichai Eliyahu shared a post promoting a T-shirt reading "Occupation Now," with a map including the West Bank, Gaza, Sinai, and the Golan, captioned "The people demand occupation—occupation now." Misbar reported that a social media user was selling shirts with the same map and a site selling maps reaching into Sinai, southern Lebanon, and Jordan; Netanyahu's office declined to comment (Misbar, 3 December 2024).
Abroad: a Canadian placard
The map travels with Israel's supporters. In September 2026 a Canadian critic asked former Alberta premier Jason Kenney why a placard at a gala for wounded Israeli veterans "includes a map of greater Israel that implies the West Bank of Palestine and Golan Heighs [sic] of Syria are Israeli territory" (Evan on X, 19 September 2026).
Lebanon on the map
In August 2026 Israel's Foreign Ministry posted a graphic showing part of southern Lebanon inside Israel. After Lebanon protested, the ministry deleted it and called it "an artificial intelligence error" (The New Arab, 10 August 2026). In April 2026 Apple Maps had dropped the names of villages and towns in southern Lebanon; Outlook India noted that "the Greater Israel theory has been getting increased media attention since the US-Israel war on Iran began" (Outlook India on X, 13 April 2026). Whatever the cause of each, the ground they describe was, by then, held by the Israeli army up to the Litani River (see Lebanon and Syria Since 2024).
Why it matters
These are small things, and that is why they matter. A state that intends to give up the West Bank does not put maps without it in its kindergartens and on its UN mission's door. The whole-land map is being taught to children, fixed to diplomatic doorposts as "a promise" to the settlers, and stuck on the cars of a police force run by a minister from Kahane's movement.
Evidence rating: CONFIRMED that whole-land maps have appeared in these Israeli official and public settings.
Status: Gilad Erdan, Or Kashti, Gonen Ben Itzhak, Amichai Eliyahu, Itamar Ben Gvir, and Jason Kenney are alive. Meir Kahane is deceased (1990). Nothing on this page states that any living person committed a crime.
