Daniella Weiss

Daniella Weiss is Israel's best-known settler leader. She was among the first families to settle the northern West Bank in 1975, later served as mayor of the Kedumim settlement, and today heads Nachala, a movement that organizes new settlement groups. She has said for decades, to Israeli, American, British, and Australian interviewers, that Israel's true borders run from the Euphrates to the Nile, and that the Palestinians "would go to other places." Ministers attend her conferences. Britain sanctioned her in May 2025.

She holds no government office. She matters because she says plainly what the movement is building toward, and because each step she has called for, from the hilltops of Samaria to Gaza to southern Lebanon, has later appeared on a minister's agenda.

The hills of Samaria, 1975​

"I came to Shomron with the idea of it becoming an inseparable part of the state of Israel," she told Haaretz. She described climbing the West Bank hills "to see the state of Israel getting broader and bigger, with millions of Jews settling the hills. That was the picture." "From the Euphrates to the Nile"​

Asked by Haaretz whether she wanted more than Gaza, the West Bank, and Jordan: "Yes, I want to have for the Jewish nation the promised land from the bible, the land that was promised to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, from the Euphrates to the Nile. And I'm sure it will be. Of course, I cannot know how many years it will take, because it wasn't specified by our prophets."

  • To Australia's ABC in 2014, according to the Serbian weekly Vreme, she held up a map labeled "The Promised Land" and said: "That's 3.000 kilometers - almost as long as the Sahara" (Vreme, 2 June 2026).
  • To The New Yorker's Isaac Chotiner: the borders of "the homeland of the Jews are the Euphrates in the east and the Nile in the southwest," and Palestinians could remain only "provided they accepted Jewish sovereignty" and "should not have the right to vote in the Knesset" (as quoted by Vox, 24 November 2023 and Misbar, 3 December 2024).
  • In 2024, as quoted by Wikipedia: "We know from the Bible that the real borders of Greater Israel are the Euphrates and the Nile."
  • In a clip shared during the June 2025 war with Iran, captioned by the British broadcaster Afshin Rattansi: "From the Euphrates to the Nile…Southern Lebanon is a part of it, all of it. Even parts of Syria, part of Iraq, part of Iran. It's huge" (Afshin Rattansi on X, 18 June 2025). Rattansi's caption: "Americans may be sent to DIE against Iran for the Greater Israel project." An earlier post of the same clip by Censored Men in January 2024 was viewed about one million times.

Gaza​

After 7 October 2023 Weiss made Gaza her cause. To CNN in March 2024: "The Arabs of Gaza lost the right to be in Gaza on the 7th of October ... No Arab -- I'm speaking about more than two million Arabs. They will not stay there. We, Jews, will be in Gaza." CNN noted a promotional video that "boasts that Gaza will become the next Riviera" and that she recruits from "the 700,000 strong settler community" (CNN transcript, 20 March 2024). At the October 2024 conference near the Gaza border she said: "We came here to settle the entire Gaza Strip, from north to south, not just part of it," and that six settlement groups, 700 families, were "ready right now" (Times of Israel). Ministers Smotrich, Ben Gvir, and May Golan spoke at the same event. To Louis Theroux: "We that settlement movement very much encourage and enable the population in Gaza to go to other countries. You will witness how Jews go to Gaza and Arabs disappeared from Gaza" (YouTube). In December 2025: "Gaza belongs to the people of Israel. And we must begin settling in Gaza now."

Lebanon​

In December 2025 the head of Nachala said: "There are parties preparing to settle in Lebanon, our bags are ready on our backs, we want to replicate the West Bank, God willing, in Lebanon" (SilencedSirs on X, 29 December 2025). In March 2026 a clip attributed to her had her saying: "We will settle Gaza. We will settle Lebanon. We will settle the entire promised land" (Mark Alan Pearce on X, 11 March 2026).

"They would go to other places"​

On Piers Morgan's show on 11 March 2026, Weiss said: "The land of Israel belongs to only one nation." Morgan asked: "What are you going to do with the millions of Palestinians?" Weiss: "They would go to other places." Morgan: "That's called ethnic cleansing" (as reported by Dr. Jamal Al-Mulla on X). The United Kingdom had sanctioned her in May 2025 for promoting settlement expansion in the West Bank.

Why she matters​

Weiss says in public what ministers say more carefully. In 1975 she wanted the West Bank hills; today the government calls itself the West Bank's "permanent sovereign." In 2024 she wanted Gaza; in 2026 the army holds about 70 percent of it. In 2025 she packed her bags for Lebanon; in 2026 the finance minister named the Litani as Israel's new border. Her map is the direction of travel.
