Charlie Kirk and the Iran War: "Not Part of Any America First Deal"

Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA and one of the most influential young conservatives in the country, was assassinated in September 2025. His views on a war with Iran became part of the argument over this war.

What he said, as the record shows it​

  • A mid-2025 clip, described by Grok: Kirk "opposing US strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities. He calls it an act of war against a major country, not part of any America First deal, and a catastrophic mistake" (Grok, 20 September 2026).
  • On Fox News, 16 June 2025, as quoted: "This is the moment President Trump was elected for. No endless wars, but Iran will NOT get a nuclear weapon. Trump can thread the needle" (@FreyjaTarte, 24 May 2026).
  • Grok also pointed to an April 2025 interview on Iran and America First on Douglas Wilson's Man Rampant podcast (Grok, 14 April 2026).

What was said after his death​

Candace Owens, 12 September 2025: "It is 100% true that Charlie opposed war with Iran and was fighting with his donors over Israel— as Tucker Carlson just shared on Megyn Kelly's show. This is why I am discomforted by the intentional lie by omission that Bibi told on Fox News about the letter Charlie wrote him" (X, about 70,000 likes). Others called that a coordinated narrative (@L08818, 10 July 2026). Some supporters wrote that "Charlie was against the war in Iran... Charlie was a threat to Trump and Netanyahu!" (@ShanonLee_AF, 23 August 2026). That is her claim.

Why it belongs here​

A young conservative leader with a vast audience of exactly the age that a draft would reach, publicly calling a war with Iran "a catastrophic mistake," is the kind of voice that keeps the object in front of the fire. His death removed that voice before the war began.
