The Congresswoman Who Said "Iraq": Marjorie Taylor Greene and the Iran War
What she said
- June 2025, after the strikes on Iran's nuclear sites, to CNN's Manu Raju: "We were told there was weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and there wasn't," and Americans had "been told these things over and over and over again for decades" (Rev transcript).
- 28 February 2026, when the war began: "We said 'No More Foreign Wars, No More Regime Change!'" (ABC News).
- Before the war, as printed on an X search page: "Dear World, Americans overwhelmingly do not support going to war. In 2024, we voted to end foreign wars and regime change" (X search, February 2026).
What happened to her
She resigned from Congress; Grok dated the resignation 5 January 2026 and summarized that she has since accused the President of "betraying America First via foreign wars (Iran, Venezuela)," calling him "a Trojan horse for neocons, Israel and the Epstein class," said "he's betrayed us all," and "criticized his response to death threats on her family" (Grok, 8 September 2026). This investigation's owner holds that she was pushed out of Congress by threats against her son; that is the owner's lead, and the record found for this page shows only that she publicly cited death threats against her family.
Why she belongs in the cave
She pointed at the one time the whole country was officially shown the shadows had been false, Iraq, and asked whether it was happening again. The record since has answered: the public case for war with Iran was not supported by the government's own intelligence. See The Iraq WMD Precedent.
