"Everybody Should Be on Board": When Loyalty Demands Silence, and Enlist-If-You-Support-It

The white horse's loyalty can harden into a demand that no one question the war. When it does, the charioteer has lost the reins. This page collects how that demand sounded in 2026, and the answer ordinary Americans gave it.

The demand

On 7 July 2026 an X user wrote: "If America fights a war, everybody should be on board. Allowing treasonous voices to poison public dialogue is self destructive." Former Reagan budget director David Stockman answered: "Well, Congress never declared a war on Iran per the Constitution, and there's also the 1st Amendment. There's that" (X, 7 July 2026).

The same demand was aimed at people who read the record. When counterterrorism chief Joe Kent asked the war's backers four plain questions, the reply was "Nobody cares what you think" (thread). A pro-war veteran dismissed critics this way: "Most of the arguments against it you see come from middle eastern bots not intelligent people" (X, 24 September 2026). A man who said he was banned from CPAC for calling the 2026 conference "Iran War Propaganda" is another case (as reported by The DP Show, 16 September 2026).

The answer: then enlist, or send yours

Ordinary Americans turned the honor appeal back on its makers:

  • "Well why don't you take your patriotic self down to the local military recruiting office and enlist and put you and yours in harms way to end the Iran war" (@Buzsaaw, 17 September 2026).
  • "What a great honor then for you or your offspring to enlist in US military and fight in the Iran war... 47 needs soldiers not propaganda" (@myron_seltzer, 27 April 2026).
  • "It's not a patriotic war tho. What I mean is, what has Iran done to spark rage and revenge in Americans to the point where they willingly enlist to fight for their country? This hasn't happened. Not since 9/11" (@pstrtxx6n8, 30 March 2026).
  • "Remember when Peace was their recruiting tool? Then thy sucked in patriotic young people to enlist?" (@TheWayOfShane, 13 February 2026).
  • "As an American I affirm the following: I DID NOT VOTE for war with Iran. I DO NOT WANT war with Iran. I DO NOT WANT any US Soldiers to die FOR ISRAEL. I DO NOT CONSENT TO THIS WAR!" (about 8,400 likes, on an X search page, February 2026).
  • "As a patriot I am not obligated to cheer for victory in every war" (Threads, 14 March 2026).

"No one is forced to enlist" — until they are

A veterans' account answered critics: "Our troops made the decision to be put in harms way. I am a veteran. No one forced me to enlist" (KMG Investigates, 13 March 2026). That is true of an all-volunteer force. It is exactly what changes if the list being built for December 2026 is ever used. The loyalty that says "they volunteered" today becomes the loyalty that says "everyone must serve" tomorrow, unless the charioteer steps in now. See Automatic Registration.
