Risk to American Troops: Zero Dead in 2025, Not in 2026
Evidence rating: CONFIRMED that no Americans were killed in June 2025 and that US service members were killed in the 2026 war, per the Pentagon as reported by the Washington Post.
No American died in the twelve-day war. That fact is often used to say the war was cheap. It was not safety. It was Iran's choice, and a choice can be unmade.
June 2025: close calls
- Evacuations. In the days before the US strike, "non-essential personnel are still quietly being evacuated from various diplomatic posts," including the US Embassy in Baghdad (S2 Underground, June 19, 2025). One Israeli-side poster, seen more than a million times, later wrote: "The Americans knew and evacuated their people from Iraq. That was a clear telltale sign" (research captures).
- Militias. Iraq's prime minister told the AP his government stopped 29 attempted attacks by Iran-aligned militias on Israel and on US bases in Iraq during the war (Israel Daily News Podcast).
- Al Udeid. Iran fired 14 missiles at America's largest base in the region, after warning. The President thanked Iran "for giving us early notice." See Al Udeid, June 23.
- The threat to the homeland. The Washington Post, the same day: "None of Iran's missiles could reach the U.S., but it could strike U.S. military bases — like it did Monday in Qatar — or launch terrorism plots" (Washington Post on X). Former counterterrorism chief Joe Kent's resignation letter, as summarized in 2026, said there was no imminent Iranian threat of attack on the United States (research captures).
2026: the bill comes due
- By March 28, 2026, one month into the second war, one widely shared tally counted "13 Americans Dead at Least" and "259 Americans Injured" (@krassenstein).
- By September 22, 2026, the Pentagon had disclosed 19 US service members dead and more than 820 wounded, while five US officials told the Washington Post the true death toll was at least 22 (Spokesman-Review, from the Washington Post).
- Aircraft losses reported by September 2026 included four F-15Es, an A-10, seven refueling aircraft and seven helicopters (@Truthtellerftm).
"Everybody who served in Iraq"
In February 2026, days before the second war, the US ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, asked Tucker Carlson: "How many Americans put their boots on the ground for Israel?" Carlson answered: "Everybody who served in Iraq." Huckabee: "Did not." Carlson: "Where did we get the information about the weapons of mass destruction that wasn't real?" (Tucker Carlson Network clip, seen about 825,000 times). See The Iraq WMD Precedent.
What comes next
The uranium that the bombs did not destroy sits in tunnels. The Arms Control Association says removing it "would likely require thousands of troops on the ground." That is where the twelve-day war leads: from an air strike with no American casualties to talk of American soldiers on Iranian soil. Follow it in American Soldiers on the Ground in Iran, and in the draft law that would supply them.
Status: Joe Kent, Tucker Carlson and Mike Huckabee are alive, as far as these sources show.
