What this video is evidence for
A Clean Break: A New Strategy for Securing the Realm is a real, public 1996 policy paper. It was written for Benjamin Netanyahu, in his first term as Israel's prime minister, by a study group led by Richard Perle, with Douglas Feith and David Wurmser among its authors. It proposed abandoning "land for peace," "rolling back" Syria, and removing Saddam Hussein from power in Iraq. Several of its authors later held senior posts in the Bush administration that invaded Iraq.
In this one-minute clip (CGTN America, March 2026), Columbia University economist Jeffrey Sachs explains how he reads it:
"The purpose of Clean Break was to say, any government in the Middle East or North Africa that supports the Palestinian cause, and supports resistance, we're gonna overthrow. And that is why there are so many wars... Libya, Sudan, Somalia, Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, and now Iran."
The paper itself is documented. Its line from Iraq to Syria matches the order in General Wesley Clark's seven-country account.

30 years ago, Benjamin Net Yahoo, when he became Prime Minister of Israel, with his American advisors, launched a project called Clean Break. The idea of clean break, everyone should understand, is to prevent, permanently, a state of Palestine alongside the state of Israel, but the purpose of clean break was to say, any government in the Middle East or North Africa, that supports the Palestinian cause, and supports resistance, we're gonna overthrow. And that is why there are so many wars. Because greater Israel, delusion of Netanyahu, and the American complicity has led to wars in Libya, Sudan, Somalia, Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, and now Iran.
