← Who Pushed the Iran War

Charlie Kirk and the Iran War

Charlie Kirk founded Turning Point USA, the largest conservative youth organization in the country, and was one of the few people with the standing to walk into the White House and argue with the President about war. He was shot and killed on September 10, 2025, while speaking at Utah Valley University. The United States and Israel launched the second, larger war on Iran five and a half months later.

This page teaches one of this investigation's theses. The thesis: Kirk was working hard, in private, to keep the United States out of a war with Iran and was turning against the pro-Israel donors who funded his movement; the network that wanted the war, Israel's government and its intelligence service, had motive to remove him; and the one federal effort to look for a foreign hand in his killing was stopped. The owner of this investigation holds that Mossad assassinated Charlie Kirk. That is a thesis, not a court finding. The page below shows what named people have said and what the record contains, so readers can weigh it.

First, the legal facts. A 22-year-old Utah man, Tyler Robinson, has been charged with aggravated murder. He has pleaded not guilty and is presumed innocent. Officials say the case against him rests on surveillance video, DNA on the rifle, a note, and text messages (as summarized on whoassassinatedcharliekirk.com, September 25, 2026 and an X news summary, March 14, 2026). Nothing on this page accuses him or any other named living person of a crime.

He tried to stop the war

In June 2025, while Israel was bombing Iran and the President was deciding whether to join, Kirk questioned the rush to war in public. On June 20 he asked how many Iranians chanting "Death to America" would become refugees in America if the U.S. intervened; on June 21 he objected to being told one must be "100% for war with Iran" or be "anti-Israel" (Kirk on X, June 20, 2025; June 21, 2025).

In private he went much further. The podcaster Bret Weinstein later published this account of a text exchange:

"On June 18th, I had a text exchange with Charlie Kirk. He said he was spending two full days at the White House trying to persuade President Trump not to initiate a war with Iran."

(X news summary, March 14, 2026). And Joe Kent, then head of the National Counterterrorism Center, later told Tucker Carlson:

"The last time I saw Charlie Kirk on this Earth was in June, in the West Wing. He looked me in the eye and said — Joe, stop us from getting into a war with Iran."

(Brian Allen on X, March 19, 2026, video). After the June 22 strikes, Kirk publicly backed the President: "Iran gave President Trump no choice" (Kirk on X, June 22, 2025). The private record shows where his heart was. Journalist Max Blumenthal summed up why it mattered: Kirk "was the only guy with a level of power to get into the Oval Office to lobby Trump against joining the Israeli war in Iran" (as quoted by @phantompain1984 on X, September 22, 2026).

He was under pressure from pro-Israel donors

Kent, in the same interview: "Charlie was under a lot of pressure from a lot of pro-Israel donors. That's in the texts that have been made public." Tony Seruga, a data analyst, summarized those texts: leaked WhatsApp group messages, which he says TPUSA spokespeople confirmed as authentic, show Kirk "complaining days before his death about losing a '$2 million a year' Jewish donor after refusing to disinvite Tucker Carlson from TPUSA's AmericaFest event," a donor he names as Bob Shillman (Seruga on X, March 24, 2026). Carlson himself said that after Kirk went to the White House to urge against striking Iran, he received "massive abuse" and "intense messages" from his donors and made "real enemies" (as quoted in a captured search summary).

The investigation that was stopped

This is the most concrete part of the thesis, and it comes from a named, senior official. Joe Kent, a former Green Beret and CIA officer whom the President appointed to run the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC), resigned over the war on March 17, 2026. Days later he told Tucker Carlson:

"One of President Trump's closest advisors was vocally advocating against war with Iran and for rethinking our relationship with Israel. And then he's suddenly publicly assassinated and we're not allowed to ask any questions about that?" ... "The investigation I was part of at the National Counterterrorism Center — we were stopped from continuing to investigate." ... "There are unanswered questions."

(Brian Allen on X, March 19, 2026). Journalist Ron Filipkowski summarized the same interview: Kent "suggests that Israel may have been behind Kirk getting killed and says the National Counterterrorism unit was blocked from investigating an Israel connection by the FBI" (Filipkowski on X, March 19, 2026). Kent said the FBI told his team the matter would "go over to Utah law enforcement," leaving the foreign leads open.

What people who hold the thesis say

The thesis spread widely after Kent spoke. Economist Richard Werner, a professor with a large following, wrote: "The war against Iran was being prepared at the time by Israel and the USA. Charlie Kirk was against it and getting increasingly vocal. He was also increasingly criticising Israel because of the genocide. Charlie's sponsors had warned him that if he didn't fall into line, the consequences would be severe. Charlie had confided to several people the day before his death that he feared he would be killed." (Werner on X, May 11, 2026). Commentator Sam Parker wrote that "israel would not be able to take this country to war against Iran if Charlie Kirk were still alive today," and that Kirk had called for AIPAC to register as a foreign agent (Parker on X, February 28, 2026). A catalog of the early claims lists Jackson Hinkle, Stew Peters, and Nick Fuentes among those who argued that Israel was behind the killing, and notes that Prime Minister Netanyahu publicly denied Israeli involvement twice, on September 12 and September 18, 2025 (Grok summary, September 25, 2026). Werner's observation was that Netanyahu "felt compelled twice" to deny it.

These are allegations by the named people who made them. The investigation presents them because the underlying facts they point to are documented: Kirk opposed the war in private, he was under donor pressure over Israel, and a federal look at foreign involvement was halted.

What would settle it

A real answer requires what Kent asked for and did not get: a completed investigation of foreign links. Specifically, release of the NCTC's work before it was stopped; the FBI's reasons for handing the case to Utah; the location and ownership data for the foreign-registered phones near the campus that Seruga describes (he reports 12 Israeli-registered phones in NSA data and a larger raw set); and the full donor texts Kent says were made public. Until then the public is asked to accept the absence of an inquiry as proof there was nothing to find.
