The Threats Against Marjorie Taylor Greene's Son
The most serious piece of the pressure on Marjorie Taylor Greene was aimed not at her but at her youngest son, Derek. This page sets out, in her own words and in date order, what the threats said, whom she told, and how the most powerful people in the country responded. It is the core fact behind the owner's thesis that Greene was forced out of Congress by a threat to her son's life.
December 2025: "assassination threats directly on my son"
On December 7, 2025, two weeks after announcing her resignation, Greene posted a four-part account. Part two:
"All of the death threats came from the 'left' until I stood with the Epstein Survivors, woman who were raped as teenagers, abused, and trafficked by rich powerful men, and that's when President Trump turned on me and called me a 'traitor' and then new death threats and harassments came from the 'right' or somewhere.
We received pizza doxxing deliveries, pipe bomb threats at my home and construction company office, and assassination threats directly on my son, Derek.
The police and local FBI and GBI, promptly responded.
I sent these assassination threats on my son to President Trump in which he responded with harsh accusatory replies and zero sympathy.
I also sent these threats to Chief of Staff Susie Wiles and Deputy Chief James Blair and received no response, nothing.
...I also sent these threats to Director Kash Patel and thankfully he responded with 'on it' and I sent these threats to Vice President JD Vance who responded promptly with kindness and sympathy."
(Greene on X, December 7, 2025; about 400,000 views). The GBI is the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
60 Minutes: "Marjorie Traitor Greene"
The same day, on CBS's 60 Minutes, Greene told Lesley Stahl:
"After Trump called me a traitor, I got a pipe bomb threat on my house, and then I got several death threats on my son… The subject line for the direct death threats on my son was [Trump's] words, 'Marjorie Traitor Greene.' Those are death threats directly fueled by Trump."
(The Bulwark on X, December 8, 2025). Asked what the President said when she sent him the threats: "I got a response from Trump that I will keep private, but it wasn't very nice." Pressed for a hint: "It was extremely unkind." (Call to Activism on X, December 8, 2025; about 839,000 views). The next day: "I sent those deaths threats directly to him in a text message and informed him of what his name calling and words were doing — it was a direct assassination threat on my son. And he was extremely — I won't repeat what he said — but it was extremely unkind. No sympathy. No care." (Sulaiman Ahmed on X, December 9, 2025).
The words of the threats
In May 2026, Greene described what the threats said:
"I started getting death threats, and it was about me being called a traitor. It was, 'You're a traitor. You deserve to die. You're a traitor. We're going to kill you. You're a traitor.' But it was the one that came in — and they kept coming — on my son, my youngest, my baby boy: 'We're going to snuff out his life. We're going to put a bullet in his head. Marjorie Traitor Greene.'"
May 2026: "if my son gets killed, I deserve it"
On May 3, 2026, at a conference in Lake Jackson, Texas, hosted by the Ron Paul Institute under the banner "War is Back on the Menu," Greene revealed what she says the President texted her:
"Donald Trump proceeded to tell me that it was my fault, and that I deserve it. If my son gets killed, I deserve it because I was a traitor to him. That is our President of the United States. That's the man that says MAGA is whatever he wants it to be."
And: "I've saved these text messages, I'd probably get put in jail if I released them publicly." (X news summary, May 4, 2026; X news summary, May 6, 2026). The X news summaries noted that "No texts have surfaced, the White House has not responded" (May 5, 2026). She repeated the account in later interviews, including with Piers Morgan. The White House has criticized her motives without answering the specific claim about the texts, according to a September 2026 summary (Grok on X, September 19, 2026).
The response of the people she told
| Official | Her account of the response |
|---|---|
| President Donald Trump | "harsh accusatory replies and zero sympathy"; later, that she would deserve it if her son were killed |
| Chief of Staff Susie Wiles | "no response, nothing" |
| Deputy Chief of Staff James Blair | "no response, nothing" |
| FBI Director Kash Patel | "on it" (December 2025); "Still waiting, Kash" (September 2026) |
| Vice President JD Vance | "We'll look into it"; "kindness and sympathy" |
On September 24, 2026, at the Texas Tribune Festival, Greene said she had asked Patel for help with the threats against her son and was still waiting: "Still waiting, Kash." (Texas Tribune on X, September 24, 2026). Nine months after the threats, no one had been publicly identified.
Where the thesis goes from here
Greene's own words place the trigger on the President's "traitor" label and the timing on her stand for the Epstein survivors; she says the new threats came "from the 'right' or somewhere," and she has not named any foreign actor. The owner's thesis goes further: that the pressure which forced her out traces to the network that wanted both the war and the Epstein files buried (see the pressure on Greene). Whatever the source, three facts stand: a sitting member of Congress who opposed the war received threats to kill her son; the federal agencies she asked for help had, by her account, not delivered answers nine months later; and she left Congress. A September 2026 post compared her case to that of Rep. Lauren Boebert: "Boebert is showing us what would've happen if MTG didn't quit her job. They went after her son first. Now they're going after her." (@PepperidgefarmN on X, September 20, 2026). Who "they" are is the question the FBI has not answered.
Status: Marjorie Taylor Greene — Alive. Derek Greene — Alive. Donald Trump, Susie Wiles, James Blair, Kash Patel, JD Vance, and Lesley Stahl are alive. The account of the texts is Greene's; the texts have not been released. Nothing on this page states that any living person committed a crime.
