Charter
This investigation documents government-based fraud, waste, and abuse. Its purpose is to catalog cases where public officials, contractors, agencies, and government-funded entities:
- Steal or divert taxpayer funds through corrupt contracts, kickbacks, or bid-rigging
- Waste public money through gross negligence, mismanagement, or deliberate opacity
- Abuse government authority for personal, political, or financial gain
- Use grants, subsidies, and NGO funding as slush funds for connected insiders
- Exploit revolving-door relationships between regulators and the industries they oversee
- Obstruct, retaliate against, or destroy the careers of whistleblowers who expose them
What Belongs Here
- Federal, state, and local government fraud cases
- Defense contractor fraud and Pentagon procurement abuse
- Grant fraud — EPA, HUD, SBA, DOE, HHS, USAID, and any other federal granting agency
- IG (Inspector General) findings of waste and misconduct
- Revolving-door conflicts of interest that corrupt agency decisions
- Whistleblower cases — people who exposed fraud and what happened to them
- Statistical evidence of budget fraud (impossible spending patterns, off-the-books accounts)
- International cases where U.S. government funds were fraudulently diverted
What Does Not Belong Here
- Private sector fraud with no government nexus
- Election fraud — see the voter_fraud investigation
- Intelligence agency misconduct without a direct fraud/financial component — see Deep_State
- Civil litigation disputes with no fraud element
Inclusion Standard
A case belongs here if there is credible evidence — court filings, IG reports, sworn testimony, audit findings, whistleblower statements, or investigative journalism — of deliberate fraud, gross waste, or abuse of government resources or authority. Unresolved cases with strong evidence are included with appropriate evidence ratings. We document what the evidence shows and let readers evaluate it.
Guiding Principle
Government fraud is not a partisan issue. This investigation documents wrongdoing regardless of which party, administration, or agency is responsible. The standard is: did public officials or their contractors steal from, deceive, or harm the citizens they were supposed to serve?
